Presentation of Friends of the Global Latin America and the Caribbean

Asuncion Paraguay-On 8 December 2009 present the new phase of the initiative Friends of the Global Latin America and the Caribbean in the context of the regional meeting of CCMs and RCMs Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

LAC Friends of the Global Network is one of 8 regions and organizations in developed and developing countries play the role of being ambassadors of the Fund.

These independent entities has been created to raise awareness, visibility and awareness of the three diseases and on the Fund, conduct advocacy with decision makers public and private sector to lend their political and financial support.

Friends of the Fund in particular Latin America and the Caribbean will focus on:

• Mobilize political support and financial strategy to combat the three diseases in region.

• Increase understanding and support for the Global Fund.

The major activities will include advocacy, awareness campaigns, working with media, Global education and research in search of more and better evidence on three diseases.
